RPI likely to contest on 8 seats in Vid: State Assembly polls
"THE RPI has forwarded the list of 57 seats to Mahayuti and expect to contest from at least 20 seats for the state assembly elections. We expect eight seats from Vidarbha," informed Ramdas Athawle. President of Republican Party of India (RPI). to the media here the other day. He said the picture of seal allotments on BJP-Shiv Sena ticket is not clear so far. he said.
"We have submitted our list of seats to BJP-Shiv Sena. Our sole aim to throw Congress-led government in Maharashtra. And for this purpose, we are ready to compromise on the seat allotments.
In Vidarbha. the RPI would like to contest from Mehkar. Morsht. Umarkhed. Teosa. Wardha. North Nagpur. Bhandara, Arjuni Morgaon." informed Athawle. After the last Lok Sabha elections, it was observed that many RPI voters shifted to Mahayuti. Without the support of RPI. the present government in Maharashtra could noi be thrown out, he iuriher added.
Despite support to BJP-Shiv. RPI was allotted weak seats in the LS polls. Therefore. RPI could not register any victory.
When asked about the party's stand in assembly election, he said this time Mahayuli has to support the RPI candidate and assure his/her victroy. If this fails to happen, the party will certainly think of its sland on supporting Mahayuti. He further added that RPI is in favour of separate Vidarbha and demands nationalisation of land so that no body is landless. This would help to low down the poverty rate in the country. He also demanded to distribute zudpi jungle land in Vidarbha. Amendments are needed in Forest Land Act.He had raised the demand before the Centra Government earlier, informed Athawle.
Anil Gondane, Sudhakar Tayde. Brahmanand Chavhan. Milind Shclke. Balasaheb Ingle. Narhari Gawai. RPI District President. RavikantTupkarof Swabhimani. were present on the occasion.
