DNYANESHWAR Rajurkar. Divisional Commissioner, recently paid a visit to the clay Ganpati idol stall of Wildlife and Environment Conservation Society (WECS). Amravati thai had been installed at local Nehru Maidan.
Wildlife and Environment Conservation Society, Amravati has been implementing 'Matiche Ganpati basawa, Nisargashi bandhilki dakhawa' (Install clay Ganpati idols, show harmony with nature) project since last nine years. Under the project. the Society had set up a clay Ganpati idol stall for availing clay idols to devotees. The society has created awareness among people by distributing handbills, slide shows, lectures and workshop. Continuing the tradition, the society has erected the stall this year too here at Nehru Maidan.
Dnyaneshwar Rajurkar. Divisional Commissioner, paid courtsey visit to the stall and took information regarding the work at the society, He praised WECS for projects implemented by the society for environment conservation and awareness.
Milind Chimote. Guide of the Society, introdueted the office-bearers. Dr Anjali Deshmukh. Vice-President of the Society, informed about work of the Society.
Atthe outset. Dr Jayant Wadatkar, Secretary, offered floral welcome to Dnyaneshwar Rajurkar and also gifted clay idols to him.
Dr Gajanan Wagh. Dr Pravin RaghuwanshL Dr Mona Chimote, Dr Shrikant Warhekar. Arvind Kanaskar, Gaurav Kadu. Alkesh Thakare. Kiran More, Saurahh Jawanjal. all the office-bearers of the Society and other members and volunteers were present in large numbers on the occasion.
