Plant, conserve Mashakhetri to saplings, students
SHIVAJI Mahavidyalaya here has adopted village Kurhadi near here under its National Students Service Scheme (NSS) for development project. A tree plantation programme was recently organised in primary school and veterinary hospital of the village. The saplings of different varieties like bel. amla. pimpal, kadunimb, mango, jamun eic were planted on the occasion.
Dr D G Mashakhetri. Principal Of the college, presided over the programme while Dr P D Ghorpade. Kamltai Mashkhetri. Sarpancha. Gajanan Madavi. Police Patil. S V Bhanarkar. Headmaster of ZP school. Dr Katwe. Veterinary Officer and Pundalik Alam were prominently present.
Speaking on the occasion. Dr Mashakhetri said human life incomplete without trees. The students should therefore plant at least one irec and preserve it Tree plantation has become a need of the hour as forest is decreasing day-by-day and that is causing environmental imbalance, he added.
The otter guests also spoke on the importance of tree plantation and urged [he students and villagers to plant trees.
DrMeshram. Programme Officer of NSS, and others took pains for the success of the programme which was largely attended by the students, villagers and college teachers.
