PIL seeking details of action taken on NMC's audit reports: HG names Meghe amicus curiae
JUSTICE Vasami Naik and Justice P R Bora at the High Coun have appointed city lawyer Prakash Meghe to assist them for considering the issues raised by social activist Mukesh Suhu through the public interest litigation (PIL).
The Court has issued notice to the respondents to file submissions in reply to the PIL by October 8 next.
Sahu has filed the PIL relating to the audit reports about the affairs of I he Nagpur Municipal Corporation and details of action taken by State Government and the other authorities on those reports. The Court has noted that the petitioner has complied with its direction to deposit Rs one lakh with it for showing its bona fides.
The petitioner sceksdetailed investigation into the illegalities and irregularities mentioned in the audit reports and action against the culprits after fixing responsibility. Adv Shrikant Khandalkar appeared for petitioner.
