People immerse Lord Ganesha with heavy heart
I AMRAVATIANS gave warm farewell to Lord Ganesha after the ten-day religious festival ended on Attain Chatuniashi, Thousands of idols were immersed in the private I as well as public water reservoirs. People bid adieu to me lord with heavy hearts.
Ganesh immersions started mainly from afternoon. People immersed I small Ganesh idols into wells near by and lakes created by Amravati Municipal Corporation. Arrangj ements were made at Prathamesh lake and Chhatri Talao. Special I swimmers were deployed at the lakesi to take Ganesh idols into the deep water. Police arrangements were promptly made to streamline the immersion process and avoid unto ward sitation.
Processions of Sarvajanik Mandals started in the afternoon.
The reputed Mandals in the city started their processions in the I evening and those were going on till late evening. Amravati city and district police had planned the immerision timings of to reduce the pressure of police machinery and facilitate the devotees. Immersions in rural areas started from Sunday. No tension or untoward incident was reported during Ganesh immersions.
