Mayor blasts Health Deptt officials for failing to control Dengue outbreak
MAYOR Pravin Daike has direct-cd Health Department to control Dengue outbreak in the city. In his first meeting with I lealth Department officials. Datkc expressed his deep anguish over working of the department and instructed them to control outbreak more efficiently. The department has received information regarding one death in dengue case. Datke informed this to media-persons on Tuesday. He said, the department has registered 38 positive cases out of 236 suspected cases of Dengue. The administration should take review every week and control increasing number of dengue cases in the city. The Zonal Officer. Health Officer and Deputy Director (II) will be held responsible for negligent attitude in failure of dengue cases. He instructed Additional Commissioner Hemant Pawar to take stern action against guilty officer for their failure in controlling. He also blasted officials for giving misleading figures of Dengue suspected persons. The figures provided by Zonal Officer and others have vast difference. Datke directed them to make all efforts during coming days for controlling dengue in the city. The department will issue notices to all private and Government officials for providing details to NMC. The Inspectors of NMC will visit all Government and private hospitals for collecting data. The local body will take action against offenders for not providing details to it. Mayor also directed administration to provide adequate man power in all the zones for curbing menace of dengue. The local body will appoint dedicated man power in this regard.
It may be mentioned that number of dengue cases are increasing in the city. The NMC docs not have any information about death but Laxmi Nagar Zone Chairman Gopal Bohare informed that a person died due to dengue.
A teenage boy also passed away due to dengue at GMC. Dalke said. Health Department is not working effectively for controlling it. The department should make a plan of massive fogging in a ward 10 control mosquitoes. Health Committee Chairman Ramesh Singare. Water Committee Chairman Sudhakar Kohle. DrMilindGanvir. DrAshok Urkude. and other officials were present.
