TEACHERS were felicitated in a programme organised on the occasion of Teacher's Day by Lions Club of Risod Mid Town, recently. Prabbakar Patil. President of the Lions Club, presided over the programme while Santosh Waghmare. Secretary, Dr Tayade and Sanjay Laddha were the chief guests.

Lions Club honoured teachers Gajanan Banore and Jayant Wasmat with shawl, shreefal and flowers.

Speaking on the occasion. Dr Tayade threw light on why birth anniversary of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. former President of India, is celebrated as Teacher's Day. He also spoke elaborately on how a good teacher should be.

Replying to his felicitation. Wasmat said that Lions Club has now reached till the common man. The organization, through its service, has ensured that many poor, blind people could see the world. This is a matter of pride for Risod and its people.
