Gold ornaments worth Rs 7 lakh stolen from jeweller's vehicle
IN A sensational theft in Tehsil area, an unidentified thief stole a bag containing gold ornaments worth Rs seven lakh from a jeweller near Shanti Dairy. Itwari on Saturday morning. Soon after the jeweller noticed that the bag containing gold was stolen from the utility box of his two-wheeler, he allegedly suffered a stroke. Passersby rushed him to a private hospital.
According to sources. Yogendra alias Govind AmrutraoAasre (48). a residents of Ganesh Nagar. owns a jewellery shop Aasre Jewellers in Sakkardara area. After closing the shop, he keeps the gold in a private locker near Motel Jai. Itwari Tonga Stand. Around 11 am. he opened the locker. After collecting the bagcon taining gold, he kept it in the utility box of his Honda Activa. While returning home, he stopped at Shanti Dairy. While he was buying curd, an unidentified person stole the bag containing gold from the utility box of his scooterette. When he opened the utility box of his vehicle, he was shocked to find the bag miss-ing. As Aasre's condition started deteriorating, he was rushed to Purobit Hospital.
Onlookers informed Tehsil Police who arrived at the spot and took Aasre's vehicle to police station. As Aasre was hospitalised, cops could not regisier the case. Confirming the incident, a police officer said that the case would be registered only after receicing the complaint.
