Gadchiroli ZP Councillor threatens hunger stir

ZIIA Parishad Councillor from Dewalmari-Repanpalli area Ajay Kankadlwar will be observing fast in front of Gadchiroli Zilla Parishad to protest against ZP administration's negligence in taking action against a Gram Sevak of Rajaram Khandla.

Kankadalwar has given a notice to the CEO of Zilla Parishad in this regard demanding immediate suspension of the Gram Sevak one V P Weladi and a criminal case against him.

According to this notice. Gram Sewak Weladi withdrew Rs. 2.60.000 from the village panchay-at's account from DCC Bank Aheri branch with a bogus signature of the Sarpanch. He has also shown bogus bills of Rs 4.02.398 towards solar lights, also misappropriated a sum of Rs 10.33.784 in various construction works and showed bogus bill of Rs 29.315 towards plant purchasing without any such purchases.

The Block Development Officer of Aheri Panchayat Sainili lias already submitted a detailed report about this corruption and misappropriation to the Chief Executive Officer on May 7. 2014 but no any action has been taken against the said Gram Scvak, said Kankadalwar in the notice.

Seeing that the Zilla Parishad administration is not taking any action against the Gram Sewak despite clear cut report of the BDO. Kankadalwar has now given an ultimatum to the Zilla Parishad to place the said Gram Sewak under suspension and initiate a criminal case against him by Sept II.

It' no action is taken against the Gram Sewak by this deadline.he would launch indefinite hunger strike in from of the Zilla Parishad from Sept 12, he has threatened. He spoke to the ZP officials two- three times about the case and requested them to take action but of was no use, hence he has been left with no option but to go on fast. Kankadalwar said.
