Dr Harold D'Gosta guides cops on cyber crime investigation

                                                                                   

A WORKSHOP on "Cyber crime investigation' was organised for police personnel by Department of Computer Science of Shivaji Science College, here recently. The workshop was organised for updating the knowledge of cops about modified technologies considering the increasing criminal incidents related to cyber crimes. Dr V G Thakare. Principal of the college, chaired the programme while Ravi Rathod , Assistant Police Inspector. Patil. Police inspector. Prof Murtaza Ali. Head of Department. Prof Hemant Deshmukh. Convenor of the workshop were present as the chief guests. Dr Harold D'Cosia. an expert in Cyber Crime Investigation, who os guiding police departments of various states since long, spoke at the programme and gave information about various cyber crimes. He also guided about how to register complaint after crime has lake place and how to decide the direction of inves tigation. The financial losses in cyber crime can be reduced if police succeed in finalising the direction of investigation after registering the offence within a specific time, said D'Costa.

At the outset. Ali. Hemant Deshmukh and Mukul Bhondc have offered floral welcome to officers and guests. Bhonde introduced Dr D'Costa. Ali delivered the introductory remarks. Police Inspector Patil expressed gratitude towards the head of Computer Science Department, all teachers and Dr D'Costa. Prof Bhonde expressed gratitude towards Dr Sureshkumar Mekala tor giving permission to the workshop.

Hemant Deshmukh. Murtaza Ali and Principal Dr V G Thakare helped for successful organisation of the programme. All the leaching and non-teaching staff and students from the college extended their support for the programme.
