'Develop children into good citizens'

                                                                             

AKOLA Municipal Corporation (AMC) teachers were felicitated on the occasion of Teachers' Day on Friday. Primary teachers performing outstandingly were honoured at the hands of Mayor Jyotsna Gawai and AMC Deputy Commissioner Dayanand Chincholikar at a programme held at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Auditorium.

Deputy Mayor Rafique Siddiqui. Opposition leader llarish Alimchandani, and Education Officer Pradip Chore were prominently present on the occasion.

Addressing the teachers Mayor Jyotsna Gawai asked them to devote themselves to develop the children into good citizens. Dy Mayor asserted that (hough AMC has been facing financial crunch to pay the teahcers regular salary, the teachers have performed their duties without grudge.

Speaking on the occasion Opposition leader Harish Alimchandani called upon to work unitedly to change the scenario of education. Dccpali Gawandc. an AMC teacher who obtained Ph D and 25 other teachers were honoured on the occasion. Pradip Chore, EO. made the introductory speech while City Secretary Anil Bidwe proposed a vote of thanks.
