Amravati MC's nod for purchase of 14 star buses
STANDING Committe of Amravati Municipal Corporation (AMC) gave approval to purchase of 14 star buses and equipments of Rs 70 lakh for fire brigade section of the corpora-lion. The nod was given in the meeting of Standing Committee on Thursday.
The meeting was headed by M ilind Bamhal. Chairman of the Standing Committee and memebrs Vilas Ingolc. Dhiraj Hiwase. Ambadas Jaware. Kanchan Dendule. Jayashree More, Kusum Sahu. Yojana Rewaskar. Rajendra Tayade. Vandana Harane, Kanchan Upadhyay. Pravin Haramkar and Ajay Gondane were present in the meeting.
AMC singed a contract with private contractors for repairing works during heavy rains. As many contractors took works more than capabilities, repairing works could not be completed. As a result. Standing Committee through the administrative proposal has decided to shift some works from original contractor to another contractor.
Warhekar constructions took works of Rs 3.5 crore and was expected to complet those works before rainy season. As the contractor already had many works of road asphaltation. he could not completed works.
As a result of which. Municipal Commissioner ArunDongarc decided to hand over some works to another contractor who was on the second number in the list of tenders. The formality of taking nod of Standing Committee for this was completed in Thursday's meeting.
Standing Committee gave nod for purchasing 14 star buses under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission. Standing Committee has also decided to run these buses upto villages close to city. Permission for purchasing of equipments of Rs 70.55 lakh was also given in the same meeting.
