CHAIRMAN   of   Parliamentary Committee for Coal and Steel and Member of Parliament Hansraj Ahir. who unearthed the biggest coal scam in the country, welcomed the landmark decision of Supreme Court (SC) that canceled 214 out of 218 coal blocks allocation and directed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government to auction the canceled block with in 6 months. The UPA Government had allotled 218 coal blocks to private companies in the country by imposing a minor royalty. This has incurred the loss of over Rs 1.86 lakh crore to the nation and national property was looied by the UPA Government, claimed Ahir. The decision of the Supreme Coun endorsed the allegations of public, he said. "I had been pursuing the issue from 2005-06 and had registered complaints with (he then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. Coal Minister Prakash Jaiswal. and the concerned departments.
