Yuva Mahotsav kicks off in Akola today
SANT GADGEBABA Amravati University Youth Festival begins at Shri Shivaji College here from September 18. informed Dr Subhash Bhadange. Principal, at a press conference.
Addressing the press, Dr Bhadange said Shri Shivaji College is hosting the mega event for [he-second time. It was earlier held in 2008.
The four-day Yuva Mufiotsav will include 24 different cultural and social events. These include painting, drawing, rangoli, poster making, folk dance, folk songs. classical dance western dance, one-act plays, skits, etc.
Dr Bhadange said that developing the internal qualities of the Students is the aim of the youth festivals. Over4.000 students from 350 colleges from Akola, Buldana. Washim, Amravati and Yavatmal districts will participate in the four-day bonanza. Akola has hosted national youth festival in 1987 also. Dr Bhadange informed.
Former Principal Daddy Deshmukh had taken initiative in introducing Yuva Mahotsav in Amravati University, he recalled.
Principal Dr Bhadange called upon the students and parents to attend the events and encourage students. He said that teaching and non-teaching staff of the college have been working hard to make the festival successful.
