AND then, hope won.

After beating Southern Express in their last qualifying match on Tuesday. many thought Lahore Lioas would be eagerly waiting for the Mumhai Indians-Northern Knights game to see if they would survive in the Champions League. The Lions, though, were least bothered about it. For. they were praying for someone else's survival. Not many knew that Pakistan seamer Wahab Riaz's daughter was being operated in Lahore shortly after the match in which the fidgety father had already played his big pan.

Riaz's mind was occupied by Eshal.his 18-day-olddaughter, who was supposed to undergo a 'very critical operation at the MedCity hospital in Lahore. Yet, the pacer did noT refrain from playing, wiTh prayer on his lips.

"Plzdopray for my little girl Eshal as she has to go through an operation to night. Plz pray for her life and health. It'sa request plz (Sync)."  he wrote on his offieial twitter handle @WahabViki, three hours before the CLT20 game on Tuesday.

"He (Riaz) was very worried about his daughter but insisted on playing for Uhorc instead of flying back. The professionalism he showed was of highest quality and the team acknowledged it. That is why we cared least about the Mumbai Indians game. We were praying for Eshal's good health." revealed Raza Rashid. media manager of Lahore Lions, talking exclusively to 'The Hitavada".

"We also made sure he never felt lonely after we returned to our hotel yesterday evening. Every member of the team was with him co-ordinating with the people back home during the operation." Raza added.
