Shetkari Din celebrated with zeal at Chikhaldara

SHETKARI Din was celebrated at Chikhaldara Panchayat Samiti recently to mark the birth anniversary of Padmashri awardee Vinhalrao Vikhe Patil. Tlie programme was organised as per the decision of" State Government that instructed to celebrate Sheikari Din on the occasion of Vinhalrao Vikhe Paul's birth anniversary considering his immense contribution for the welfare of farmers.

Khandare. Chikhaldara Tehsil Agriculture Officer, chaired the programme while Dr Kalaskar. Programme Co-ordinator of Krushi Vidn-yan Kendra. Ghatkhed was present as Ihe key speaker for the programme. Lede, Junior Engineer of MSEDCL. Chikhaldara. Dharmaraj Khadke. progressive farmer from Aladoh. Saduram Patil. Deputy Sarp-anch of Motha and Babu Hekade. Deputy Sarpanch of Shahapur were present as the guests of honour.

Addressing on the occasion. Dr Kalaskar guided the farmers regarding increase in soyabean crop production. Discussion on symptoms of insects on soyabean and other crops, solutions over them, sample taking procedure in the farm tor sand examination and need of sand examination also took place on the occasion. Lcde guided the gathering regarding the electricity bill waiver declared by State Government for  farmers.

Lhandare in his introductory remarks informed about the invaluable contribution made by Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil for sugarcane grower farmers by starting first Co-operative Sugar Factory in Asia.

Pavankumar Dhomane, Agriculture Development Officer from Chikhaldara Panchayat Samitti, conducted the proceedings while Nilesh Berad proposed a vole of thanks. PS employees and farmers from Chikhaldara Tehsil were present in large numbers for the programme.
