NMG razes illegal construction in bungalow of retired judge
ENFORCEMENT Department of Dharampeth Zone of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has demolished illegal construction in the bungalow of retired Justice late Waikar at Bharat Nagaron Tuesday. Daughters of Justice Waikar had lodged complaints against each other about excess construction in the bungalow.
Enforcement Department team took the action under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Shy am Wardhane. Assistant Commissioner Rajesh Karade led the team. It may be mentioned that the bungalow is situated in Bharat Nagar. Shashikala. wife of Justice Waikar. resides on the ground floor with her younger daughter Deepali Sanjay Kotwal while elder daughter Sushma Dilip Ghanekar occupies the first floor of two-and-a-half floor bungalow. Currently. Ghanekar resides in Sbivaji Nagar.
Kotwal and Ghanekar families allegedly effected illegal constructions at marginal space of ground floor and closed the balcony of the first floor. Both the families constructed around 208 sq mtr more than that sanctioned vide building plan. Also, they illegally constructed toilet blocks on terrace floor of the building.
The local body issued notice under Section 53 (I) of MRTP Act. 1964 to both the parties for removing their excess construction. The team of local body removed illegal construction in December 2013. The remaining illegal construction was removed on Tuesday. Both the families were creating interference in the drive, said Enforcement Department officials. Karade called Ambazari Police for taking the action.
