MAHARASHTRA Social Justice Minister Shivajirao Moghe feels it is better to fight to the election alone rather than forming alliance. While talking to mediapersons at local Circuit House, Moghe said that if the results of Zilla Parishad and municipal councils is taken into consideration. Congress or NCP alone took the lead and Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party candidates had to remain content at third or fourth position. There is no harm in trying to go alone in Assembly elections as well. Moghe opined.
The Minister further said that the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party come together for elections with an aim to keep the communal parlies out of power. However, he opined, ilia! both parlies will benefit if they go alone in the polls. Moghe said dial he has already talked about this to All India Congress Committee Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
If NCP leader warns candidature from a particular Assembly segment and ticket is given to the Congress member. then the NCP workers may not campaign for him with enthusiasm. Moghe pointed out.
Meanwhile. Yavatmal District Congress Committee President Wamanrao Kasawar also prefers to fight the State Assembly elections alone and without forming an alliance with NCP. he said that the Congress party has a strong base in every strata of the society and therefore it will have no problem fighting the election alone.
