Malkapur cops seize Rs 66 lakh cash, arrest three from Nagpur
IN A sensational incident. Malkapur police acting on a tip off, laid a trap and arrested three persons from Nagpur and seized a bag containing cash of Rs 66,46,913 on Tuesday night.
The cash was being carried in an Alto car and the arrested youths told the police that the cash belonged to a company and they had gathered the amount from Nagpur. Wardha. Amravati and Akola.
As Assembly elections have been declared and model code of conduct is in force, the cops are on their toes and taking extra precautions for smooth polls. Acting on an information, Malkapur police slopped an Alio car and seized a bag with the cash. The names of ihe arrested youths are Anand Manikrao Meshram (29), a resident of Navneet Nagar. Wadi. Swapnil Prakash Jumde (32). a resident of Manish Layout and Nitin Diwakar Alii (38). a resident of Janani Nagar. Uday Nagar chowk. They were travelling in the Alto car (MH-31/EA-245I) and were stopped by Malkapur police on national highway no. 6. When (he cops searched the car vehicles on Tuesday at 11 pm they found a bag containing a huge cash.
Malkapur police have started investigations into the case and various doubts are being raised as whether the cash helongs to a company or not? What are the dealings of the company and whether the Income Tax Department has been informed or not. Police are investigating from all angles.
