THE first three toppers of Vianney Vidya Mandir. Ghugus were felicitated in a grand function held here the other day. Father Thomson Pullasseril. Assistant Priest-in-charge. St Thomas Church. Chandrapur. presided over the function while Sanjay Jiwankar. Correspondent The Hitavudo. Bhaskar Kalwal, District President of Human Rights, were the guests of honour. Father Tomy Chovelikudiyil. Principal, was also present.
At the outset of the programme, guests, toppers and parents of the toppers were welcomed by BinojP James with bouquet. He then delivered the introductory remarks. He exhorted students to be dreamers and achieve great things in life and keep their dreams alive. Dreams are not real but they are an inspiration to try harder, he mentioned. Principal Faiher Tomy Chovelikudiyil congratulated the nippers and teachers for their hard work for registering 100 per cent record result for the sixth consecutive year. He compared success is like digging for gold. "When you go digging for one ounce of gold, you liave to move ions of d in to get an ounce of gold. But we need lo remember that when you go digging you don't go looking for the dirt, you go looking for the gold. It is the same with success." he explained.
Father Thomson Pullassery, in his presidential address, appreciated the teachers who look efforts for achieving 100 per cent result for the sixth consecutive year. He reminded the students that there is no shortcuts to success and the only way that leads to success is hard work and dedication.
Later, three school toppers namely Akshay Parate. Chinmay Deliury. and Abhijit Waman Karhade were felicitated with Late Smt Pullamma Maisaya Kalwal Memorial Award and cash prizes sponsored by Bhaskar Kalwal. BishopJanuarius Memorial Cash prizes and certificates were given away at the hands of Father Thomson Pullassery. Apart from this. Dr John M Chacko Award iastituted by Laurels School, Indore were given away to toppers by Sanjay Jiwankar.
Subject teachers of the school Sunitha Singh. Binqj James. Nandkishor Dhote. Shinoj Thomas, Roshni Agdari and Nilofer Sheikh presented special gifts to toppers in their subjects.
The school class toppers and students who had 100% attendance for the academic year of 2013-14 were also felicitated at the hands of guests.
Topper Akshay Paraic, while expressing his gratitude, attributed his success to the teachers and principal of the school. He appealed his juniors to uphold the name and fame of the school by their best performance in the Board examination. Solomon Kunduruthy conducted proceedings of the programme while Marykomal Goski proposed a vote of thanks and commended all for sponsoring trophies and cash prizes for the toppers of the school, The programme was well attended by the parents, teachers and students. Teaching and non-teaching staff members look efforts for the success of the programme.
