Disabled man's Veerugiri to get NIC pay amount sanctioned for Gharkul
TIRED of Municipal Council's delaying tactics, a physically challenged person climbed the high terrace of the Municipal Council and staged an agitation tor his demands, giving a tough time to Municipal Council employees and police.
Pandit Yadav Ganvir. who is physically challenged, had a house sanctioned for him under the Gharkur scheme. Despite the sanction, Ner MC was delaying payment of the sanctioned fund for constructing home. Hence he staged a 'Veerugiri' to get his demand for early release of the sanctioned amount fulfilled.
Pandit Ganvir had applied for Gharkul understate Government's Ramai under in 2008 and a charkul was sanctioned in 2013. However, he received no money till date. For getting the sanctioned fund, he had to make several rounds of Municipal Council but he did not get the money. So, he climbed the terrace of the Municipal Council and threatened to end his life.
A lot of people gathered at the spot and officials had a tough time urging him to climb down. It was when MC Chief Officer R S Raul and Engineer R R Kalose assured him that his fund would be immediate sanctioned that Pandit agreed lo climb down allowing officials to breathe easy.
