Matte threatens stir against MSEDCL

PRADIP Ajabrao Maite, a resident of Shivajinagar, here warned Kxecutive Lngineer of Maharashtra Slate Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSED-CL), Chandrapur, in a press conference that he would go on fast-unto-dealh in front of local MSEDCL office if his electricity bill was not reduced within a week.

Interactingwiththemedia persons he said that the metre was installed at his house in 2()0(S. There was no problem up to February 2011 and the bill was paid regularly but from March he received average bill mentioning the faulty metre. That was also paid up to December 2012.

Later, he did not get the bill from January 2013 to April 2013. Again he got demand bill from the month May to August and that was also paid. No electricity bill was given to him from September to December 2013. Ash was faulty meter, he requested the concerned engineer to replace it but his appeal was rejected stating the reason that it was not faulty and there was no need to change it. To his surprise, a hefty bill of lis 17,000 was charged for the month of January. 2014. He ran to the city electricity distribution department but he was told that the bill amount was correct and dial must bepaid. Once again lessening the amount bill of Rs 12,000 was given to him. Hepaid Rs5,000 against it, he said.

l:or the remaining bill he was being threatened to cut off the electricity supply if the bill was not paid. But his appeal for lessening the charged bill since 201 :i was ignored. He and his family had been harassed by the linemen, he alleged.

I ledemanded proper justicelo him. If not, he would goon fast-unto-death or take any extreme step and MSEDCL would held responsible for it.
