Angry villagers lock MSEDGL office at Nandgaon Peth


ANGRY over irregular power supply and non co-operalion from employees of Maharashtra Stale Electricity Distribution Company Limited, hundreds of farmers and villagers from Kaihora Gandhi village locked office of MSEDCL at Nandgaon Peth on Thursday afternoon.
People from Kathora Gandhi village were receiving irregular electricity supply since last onc-and-half-month. There was no power supply to their fields also since from last 5 days.The MSHDCL officers and employees allegedly made temporary arrangements whenever farmers and villagers lodged complaint about the problems. This was adding up to problems of farmers who are already burdened by crop failure. Angry' over lack of regular power supply, hundreds of farmers and villagers from Kathora Gandhi village reached MSEDCL Office ai Nandgaon 1'eth on Thursday. They wanted to present memorandum of their demands to the authorities concerned. However, the office was closed when reached there. When villagers contacted Kathod, Branch Engineer, he sent Bharatsingh Bais, an employee to open the office and receive the memorandum from the villagcrs.
This further infuriated the villagers who, after handing over the memorandum to Bais, locked the MSEDCL office. In the memorandum the villagers have demanded uninterrupted electricity supply to them and have threatened to stage agitation if the demands wouldn't fulfilled immediately. Hajesh lawanjal, Sharad Jawanjal, Sheikh Ajmat Sheikh Hussain, Sunil lawanjal. Nitin Wankhade, Nilesh Wankhade, Sachin lawanjal. I'rashant Thakare, Dilip Kale, A jay lawanjal, Dr Nandkumar Jadhavand many odiers participated in the stir.
