Cotton procurement begins at Hinganghat APMC
COTTON procurement began ai Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC), I Iinganghat on Monday. However, the cotton growers were quite displeased with the Cotton Corporation of India's (CCF) rigid stand of not giving a rate above Rs 3,950.Asa result, many of them sold the cotton to privatebuyersat the rateofRs4,050-Rs4075pcrquin-tai.Ii may be mentioned here that more than 5,000 quintals of col-ton was brought to the APMC on Monday.The farmers were hopeful of good rates from CO , but they were left disappointed. Farmers opined that had the CO given a rate of Rs 4,050 the prices would have soared to Rs 4,200.
