A MAN who was swept away in floods was saved by the alert villagers near Kamathwada in Kalamb taluka on Monday evening.

In Yavatmal district heavy rains lashed on Monday due to which alt the nullahs and rivers are overflowing affecting normal life.

Gulab Tukaram Uike (54) was crossing the overflowing nullah when he swept away. As soon as some villagers saw him they ran on the side of the nullah and after half a kilometre SureshShrira me. Sanlosh Nehre and Gajanan Mandhre look out Gulah I like from the nullah. I lis condiiionwascrilical and they immediately took him to hospital where he recovered.

Meanwhile, in Darwah town due to incessant rains the road from bus stand to Golibar square was Hooded and the people are facing lot of problems and the normal life is thrown out of gear. Many vehicles were damaged as water entered the engines and people were left helpless.
