Land Revenue Inspector caught accepting bribe
ANTI-CORRUPTION Bureau (ACB) officers caught Omdeo Marotrao Lanjewar, Circle Inspector (Godhni Circle), Land Revenue Department, red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 6000/- from a woman for making necessary changes in the 7/12 records.
Leela Hiwse had ancestral agriculture land admeasuring 1.51 hectare at village Lawa (PUN 4). Of this, 0.60 hectare land was sold by her father. The oilier legal heirs moved the court to prevent disposing off the remaining land and obtained a stay. Later, the court vacated the stay following a compromise by the litigants. For making necessary changes in the 7/12 records. Leela Hiwse's sister submitted an application to Circle Inspector (Godhni Circle) Lanjewar in the name of Tehsildar, Patwari office. Fetri. Lanjewar demanded Rs 10.000/- from Leela Hiwse for issuing the revised 7/12 extract. After negotiation. Lanjewar agreed to accept Rs 6000/-.He asked Leela Hiwse to come with the cash at Meshram Square, near Raj Bhavan Gate, Sadar, on Monday. After receiving a complaint from Leela Hiwse, bureau officers laid a trap at Meshram Square and caught Lanjewar red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe.
Bureau officers took Lanjewar into custody immediately and registered an offence under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. 1988 against him Sadar Police Station.
The trap was laid by DySP Mil ind Toire and his team comprising Ramesh Bhoyar, Sanjay Thakur, Komal Biscn, Jaimaroti Kodpewad and Manohar Doiphode under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (ACB) Prakash Jadhav and Additional SP Vasant Shirbhaie.
