Fake 'Anti-Corruption' office raided, 3 arrested

THE Risod town was in for a great shock when police conducted raid on the office of 'Anti Corruption and Crime 1 investigation Front'. here the other day. Three persons have been arrested so far and the police claims that with these arrests a huge racket has been busted.

The office of the so-called anti-courrption office was functioning since last one year in the premises ofihe APMC.

Those working here had informed people that the office had branches in other cities too and they were anti-corruption officials higher in stature even to the police. They had told people that they had complete right to conduct investigation and had created an atmosphere that inspired fear among the common people. Police detained three persons of the gang for interrogation. The gang had allegedly issued threats like sealing schools, canceling licences etc to extort money from people, the police said.

It is believed that the racket is spread in other cities of the State like Aurangabad. Amravati etc.
