Engineering teachers to stage stir tomorrow

TEACHING staff of Government and aided engineering colleges in Maharashtra will take mass casual leave and state agitations in front of Regional Office of Joint Director of Technical Education of Maharashtra on Teachers's Day, September 5 for their long pending demands.

According to Maharashtra Engineering Teachers' Association, engineering teaches have not been paid 80 percent arrears of Sixth Pay Commission till date. In spite of submitting several memoranda and meeting with concerned officials several times. Ministry of Higher and Technical Education has not paid any attention to the demand of the association. The promotion of teachers has also not been implemented deliberately- Government is not taking serious efforts for recruitment of staff against the vacant post in Government Engineering Colleges.
