7 criminals arrested with pistols, live cartridges
LOCAL Crime Branch of Akola police have arrested seven persons for their involvement in illegal possession of country-made pistols and live cartridges. A police squad led by PSI Dnyaneshwar Fad has seized 3 country-made pistols and two live cartridges from the house of one Rajkumar alias Raj Arun Yadav in a raid based on a tip off received by them.
Two motorcycles (MH-30/AK-2114 and MH-30/ AD-8481) used for alleged smuggling of weapons were also confiscated by police. Six other accused in suspected smuggling of weapons have also been taken into custody in this case.
The raid was carried out on Friday late night. On the same day police had seized allegally possessed stock of a do/en swords and other weapons from Umravsinh Premsinh Bawari at his rented house in Adarsh Colony area under jurisdiction of Khadan Police station.
The other six accused arrested after investigation in seizure of country-made pistols and live cartridges arc identified as Amol Nandkishor Salwe (25). Umesh Jondhale (22)GuIabraoSoIankc(23). AshokKashiram Jamnik (26). Pawan Eknath Gawande (24) anil Rahul Shamkumar Sharma (23).
As per information received Police had raided house of Raj Yadav in Harihar Pelh area of old city here. During investigation he informed the police about purchase of the pistol from Umesh Jondhale and Gulabrao Solanke who had link with main alleged smuggler of weapons Amol Salwe of Shivaiii village near Akola. The gang of six accused other than Raj Yadav was allegedly involved in smuggling of country-made pistol and cartridges. The trio of Amol Salwe. Umesh Jondhale and Umesh Solanke are involved in activity of buying the weapons from Madhya Pradesh while others look after marketing, it was revealed.
