50 police recruits suffer from food poisoning during training
AROUND 50 recruits of Amravati Rural Police were admitied to Amravati Disiricl General Hospital on Thursday as they suffered from food poisoning. Around 10 people are serious while condition of two is said to be critical.
Training of newly recruited 228 men and women is being conducted by Amravati Rural Police. Food and residential arrangements of 75 women and 153 women has been made at the ground behind office of Commissioner of Police.
It is reported mat some recruits were suffering from vomiting and motions since last 2-3 days. On Thursday morning, around 50 recruits complained of acute stomach pain, vomiting and loose motions and also fever.
All recruits, including girls, were brought to District General Hospital on Thursday morning where they had to watt for doctors.
Meanwhile. Superintendent of Police Viresh Prabhu visited the hospital and spoke to the recruits. It was after his intervention that treatment of the recruits started. According to doctors, condition of recruits deteriorated due to food poisoning and viral infection.
