CBI's clean chit to Rly Officer
CENTRAL Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has given clean chit to Mohd. Muzammil alias Shakecl. Office Superintendent of Central Railway. Nagpur as it failed to find out anything undocumented or unaccounted in the case of Disproportionate Assets case.
The CBI has filed for discharge report in the Special CBI court. Nagpur. Shakecl is a volleyball player and represented Indian Railways in senior national championship thrice and won gold medal.
The CBI had registered Disproportionate Asset case against Shakecl and his wife and had charged the duo of possessing assets to the tune of Rs 2.37.37.781 which were highly disproportionate to there known sources of income which constitute offences punishable under Section 109 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 13(2) read with 13(1 He) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
Recently. R K Das. Deputy Superintendeni of Police (CBI). submitted a closure anneal before the Special Judge of CBI V S Murkuie 10 withdraw case against Staked.
R K Das slated before the court that "In view of evidence both documentary and oral that have come forth during investigation, (he allegations as leveled in the FIR could not be substantiated."
The CBI had registered FIR of Disproportionate Asset Case in view of the initial evidence both documentary and oral that had come forth during the investigations and documents that were seized from the Central Railway Department as well as obtained from the residence of the accused.
However, after intensive investigation and through valuation that took more than 20 months, the CBI did not find anything incriminating against the duo and filed for "Discharge/Closure Report" on in the Special CBI Court. Nagpur.
After hearing the matter. Special Judge V S Murkute in a judgement discharged Mohd. Muzzamil alias Shakee! and his wife from charges of possessing disproportionate assets.
Adv M B Naidu. Adv Prakash Naidu and Accountant Tony Lukose assisted Shakeel in defendine the charecs filed by the CBI.
