BJP demands debate over party's poor show
CHURNING within the BJP Slate leadership has started alter the parly's poor performance in the Uttar Pradesh by-elections by winning just three Assembly seats and losing seven Assembly and one Lok Sabha seals. Some leaders have even blamed the leadership on the selection of the candidates and demanded discussion within the party to discuss the reason behind the defeat after a landslide victory in the Lok Sablia elections four month back. Former BJP State president Om Prakash Singh has demanded that an open discussion be started in the parry after the poll result. Some leaders also blamed "misuse' of official machinery and silent rigging by the Samajwadi Party for the party's debacle.
However, leaving aside the defeat. UP RIP legislature party is meeting here on Friday to discuss about the political situation in the State after the by-elections.
State BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak said here on Thursday that the legislature party meeting had been convened by the leader Suresh Khanna on Friday morning.
