Use mushroom in regular diet: Dr Meghna Deshmukh
INTERCOLLEGIATE workshop on mushroom cultivation and preparation of cosmetics was organised by Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Matoshri Vimalabai Deshmukh college. Amravati.
The workshop was organised to make students aware of nutritional and medicinal use of mushroom in the daily diet to prevent malnutrition and its benefit as a cash crop in deasely populated country like India. Cosmetics workshop was organised to inform about its components and its pros and cons.
Dr A S Rathod. Principal, presided over the inaugural function of the workshop. In his inaugural speech, he gave information about wild edible mushrooms.
He informed about the importance of cosmetics which has become the integral part of daily life. K G Deshmukh emphasized on knowledge about nutritional importance and rejuvenating use of mushroom for weak persons. Dr Meghna Deshmukh. orgniser of the workshop, stressed on the need of such
workshops and demonstrated the
preparation of cosmetics. She prepared the face powder, cold cream, vanishing cream and all purpose cream as well as explained the functions of each constituent n cosmetics. She emphasized on the medicinal properties of cosmetics.
Dr Aruna Deshmukh gave the training of mushroom cultivation and guided the students about various edible varieties and their nutritional constituents.
She also explained the procedure of spawn preparations as a separate income generating source.
Valedictory function was presided over by Dr M K Bodkhe and Dr Sandhya Joshi was the chief guest. Students of various colleges attended and actively participated in cultivation procedure.
Dr Aruna Deshmukh and Meghna Deshmukh took efforts for the success of the workshop.
