Two poachers caught selling wild boar meat
REPORTS of rampant poaching in Amgaon forest range is reported time and again and many poaching cases are coming to fore. On Sunday. acting on a tip off forest officials caught two people from Mundipaar village red-handed while they were busy in selling the wild hoar meat.
Details have in that accused have installed live wire in field in Sawangi village of Amgaon tehsil and poached wild boar on September 20. On Sunday, they took the carcass to Mundipaar village in neighbouring Salekasa tehsil, wanting to sell the meat there.
After getting information. Forest Department team comprising Forest Guards S M Pawar and S G Mahure rushed to the site, seeing the forestmen approaching them. Six accused managed to flee the spot while accused Rajesh Ruplal Uprade (26) and Bhaiyalal K o h I u Waghmare(60). both residents of Mundipaarwere caughl red-handed with the meat, skin and head of the poached wild boar.
They both were brought to Amgaon's forest office where Dr BRHedaoo performed postmortem of the animal . A case under relevant sections of Wildlife Protection Act 1972 has been registered against both and further investigations are on.
