Tribal villagers imparted training in fish farming
AN IMPORTANT training programme on fishing and fish conservation was organised by Nature Conservation Society. Amravati at Muthwa Environment Resource Centre. Melght recently. The programme was organised specially for tribals. Total 29 tribals from Kesarpur and Tarubanda villages of Chikhaldara tehsil of the district and Bori Talao village in Dharni tehsil participated in the training programme.
h may be noted that the Fisheries Department has given rights to gramsabha for fishing in water reservoirs close to villages from Melghat region. Kishor Rilhe. Member of Maharashtra State Wildlife Board. Kamalkar, Assistant Commissioner of Fisheries Department, and P D Baswant. Fisheries Development Officer, took initivative for organising the training programme for training tribals to use the lake in the village for fishery business through Village Development Committee or through Fores! Management Committee. A A Khan. Fishery Development Officer, guided villagers on what is Fish farming, where to do it and formation of lakes.
Sunil Wanjari guided on how to select fish seeds, storage of fish seeds, increasing production capacity of the lakes, management of lakes, benefits of fish fanning, budget and profit etc.
Training via demonstration regarding how to increase the production of the lakes, which supplemcntry fertilisers and foods should be supplied for increasing the fishes and how to test the development of the fishes was also given to the trainess on the occasion.
