ANRTI activist from Murtijapur has filed a complaint with State Election Commission accusing Dr Ranjit Patil, MLC, from Amravati Graduates' Constituency, of submining false details annul his property in the affidavit presented to the court before elections.
Stating that State Election Commission has admitted his complaint and has issued orders in this regard. Vikrant Kate, a resident of Murtijapur in Akola district, has demanded    severe action agaiast Dr Patil for alleged cheating of voters in Graduates' Constituency.
Dr Ranjit Patil won Amravati Graduates' Constituency elections in 2010 defeating veteran leader B T Deshmukh. In the complaint lodged by Kate it is alleged that Dr Patil. in his affidavit, has provided incomplete and misguiding information about his education, property, profession and debts.
Kate accused Dr Patil of not provided information about his alleged 'unaccounted property' and has presented fake details of the property. In the affidavit, he provided infor-mation about the property owned by his wife but did not mention anything aboul the properly in the name of dependent son. Sharva. the complaint alleges.
Patil has bought a land of Rs 32 lakh in (he year 2000 in the name of Sharva Annasaheh Pa vitrakar al ias Sharva Ranjit Patil but has not declared its details in the affidavit.
The complaint states that plot of land was purchased in name of minor son of Dr Ranjit Patil (transaction dated March 2. 2000) and that as a natural guardian Dr Patil had applied to ihe local court for permission for disposal of thai property on behalf of his son. A local newspaper has published notice on June 8. 2013 in matter of granting permission. In the said notice, the fact about property is given and thai is the proof for the wrong, false information furnished in the affidavit for nomination of candidature, the complaint alleges.
The affidavit also does not have information about the Income Tax and other taxes paid by Dr Patil in the year 2009-10 and 2010-11. it is alleged. He has shown total income of Rs 1.6 crore in the year 2008-09 but has not provided details about how much advance lax. profession tax and income tax he had paid, said Kate in the complaint.
"Dr Patil tried to cheat voters in graduates' coastituency and defeated B T Deshmukh through a conspiracy. He provided wrong and incomplete information to Election Commission in his affidavit. Election Commission should start the process of canceling his membership from Legislative Council and take steps to conduct the election process again. A complaint would also be filed with the court very soon," said Kate who is from Ghungashi village in Murtizapur tehsil of Akola district and is founder member of All India Federation for Free & Fair Polls as well as a RTI activist.
