World Environment Day at ACG
'RAISE your voice, not the Sea Level', with this theme, the ACC Chanda Cement Works observed Worlds Environment Day. 10 spread awareness among its employees about the environment.
The company organised various competitions like Slogan Writing and Essay Writing in Hindi. Marathi and English on the topic 'Melting of Ice: A Hot Topic". Poster on the topic 'Raise your voice not the Sea Level', and Quiz competition, for all the Employees and their families. A mass gate meeting was arranged on this day as a vehicle to propagate the small steps that one should take to protect the environment. On this occasion, a skit was presented by a team of employees showcasing the measures that ACC Chanda has taken in past few years to demolish pollution and safeguarding its landscape.
This occasion was also used as a platform to communicate the message that 'Planet Earth is shared island, lei us all join forces to protect it' through marvellous speeches by Shyam Vaishnav, Senior General Manager Plant Operations and Rathindra Nath Roy. Chief Manager- Environment.
The winners of the competitions were awarded by the hands of Shyam Vaishnav.
Two hundred saplings were planted on this day at the Company's Rain Water Harvesting Ground, and there is ;i plan to plant 10.000 saplings at the ACC's Sindola and Gowari mines. 2000 saplings at Plant and 500 saplings at colony as part of the Save the Environment venture in the coming monsoon season.
