THE exhibitions specially designed for architecture students boosted their confidence level. People came 10 know what the institute was doing, said Jiten Shrivastava. Immediate Past Chairman of The Indian Institute of Architects, Nagpur Centre on Saturday.
He was talking to The Hitavada. after inaugurating the seventh exhibition of' Thesis Work of Final Year B.Arch students at the Ravindranath Tagore An Gallery.
Shrivastava added that the work of the students displayed was very presentable. "It is like the mirror which reflects what exactly is happening in the field of architect. A sense of confidence is developing among the students and the general public of the city will also be benefited from their work." he noted.Adding further, he said that professionals also got to learn from the thesis of students. The new ideas and case study of existing structure, their analysis would be very beneficial for the society and the people would come to know about the best structure of various places which they were unable to visit personally. The exhibition is showcasing 21projects of seven educational institutions of architecture of the region namely. Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology. Smt Manoramanai Mundle College of Architecture. Priyadarshini Institute of Architecture and Design Studies. B a p u r a o Deshmukh College of Architecture. Kavikulguru Institute ot'Technology and Science. Manoharbhai Paid Institute of Engineering and Technology and Institute of Design Education and Architecture Studies. Each of the projects/thesis presented were the best of its category as ihey were chosen among the 70 to 100 thesis of the own institute.
"It's a six months efforts put in at the final semester by the student under the guidance of the professors, three internal reviews taken by the externals, academicians and practising architects are taken to enhance the work and finally an external jury selects it for the exhibition." said Paramjit Ahuja. Also present on the occasion were architects Parag Yelne. Sujit Rodge. Kishore Rewatkar. Habeeb Khan. S A Deshpande. R G Bhambhani. K M Shirkhedkar. S M Bobde. S V Sahasrabuddhe. Madan Pande. A niket Khodwe. Chakradeo and others. The exhibition will be open on June 8. 2014 between 11 am and 7 pm.
