Rs 145 cr released for Gosikhurd PAPs


DIVISIONAL Commissioner Anoop Kumar has released an aid of Rs 145 crore, received from the Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporalion (VIDC). to the District Collectors of Nagpur and Bhandara districts for implementation of rehabilitation package for persons affected by Gosikhurd mega irrigation project. Maharashtra Government had announced a special package of Rs 1.200 crore to expedite rehabilitation and resettlement of project-affected persons (PAPs). As per the Government. Water Resources Department (WRD) had to make available the requisite fund. Accordingly.    VIDC   Executive
Director has released the amount of Rs 145 crore to Divisional Commissioner, who. in turn, has released it to District Collectors of Nagpur and Bhandara.
As far as Nagpur district is concerned, it has received Rs 85 crore. Of this, an amount of Rs 20 crore has been distributed to Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) VIDC-I. Rs 35 crore to Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) VIDC-II. and Rs 30 crore to Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) VIDC-III. Similarly, in Bhandara district, of a total allocation of Rs 60 crore. Rs 20 crore has been released to Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) VIDC-I. Rs 10 crore to Deputy Collector (Land Acquisition) VIDC-II. and Rs 30
