Incessant rains throw normal life out of gear in Gondia
INCESSANT heavy rains coupled with strong winds for past 48 hours have thrown normal life out of gear in Gondia district. During last 24 hours all 33 circles of all 8 tehsil in district registered heavy rain fall. Following the brimming water level of Ganeshghat nullah. 105 members of 37 families were evacuated and shifted to relief camp in Amgaon APMC. Likewise, [he residents on the riverside near Pujaritola dam were also asked lo evacuate. The bridge in Rajegaon continued to remain submerged in Hood waters.
During past 24 hours Amgaon tehsil in Gondia district recorded highest 163.3 rainfall followed with Salekasa- 160.5 mm. Deori -157.2 mm. Gondia - 136.5 mm, Sadak Arjuni - 128.6 mm. Goregaon -113.3 mm. Tirora - 99.4 mm and Arjuni Morgaon - 95.3 mm. These rains have made up for the deficient rains of June and similarly ihe water storage in major dams of the region has also been improved.
The tehsil wise rains registered between June 1 to July 22 is Gondia 328.6mm. Amgaon - 595.3mm. Deori - 462.2 mm. Arjuni Morgaon - 303.3 mm, Salekasa- 555.6mm. Sadak Arjuni - 442.6 mm.
