Cultural corpus fund needed for survival
"CORPORATRS have a huge budgct market for advertisement and publicity on TV channels as well as News papers. It is now for the Government at centre to get the Corporates cooperate willingly to contribute just one percent of their budgeted amount to a cultural corpus fund, to be created for the up liftment of our dying art forms. Such a collection made out of contributions by Corporate giants will help in a big way to organise, concerts in small owns and cities. which in turn will provide platform to talent. It will also help in rejuvenating other art forms like painting, folk an. folk music which is fast vanishing", observed Pt Rajan Mishra and Sajan Mishra. while speaking exclusively to TJie Hinivada at Hotel Pride on Wedesday. The legendary duo of Benaras Gharana of Hindusthani Classical music are in the city to perform at the Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Sangect Samaroh that commenced from Wednesday. "Similarly, Corporate sector must be asked to also a slot for promotion of folk music and classical music. Big and small cities can be given a budget out oi this corpus, that will be banded over to a committee coin-prising of senior artists of the city, who will be accountable tor the proper use and to promote local artists and also bring in transparency" observed 11 Sajan Mishra. "I am also very keen 10 promote an event which I would like to call as *Moun Diwas' where, say on a day like August 15 or January 26. all activity, movement of people, trains, automobiles. On Parental responsibility. Pt Rajan Mishra was quick to state "Parents need to identify a child's interest, guide him or her to spend some time to listen to our rich music, which will automatically motivate her."
Pt Sajan Mshra added. "In the US music is made compulsory for children up to the age of 5 years. So the children develop a habit of listening to musical notes" here back home our people just know how to admonish the child. When we tend to adopt a lot of things from the West, this could also be taken" he felt. Lastly, speaking on the upcoming scenario Pt Rajan Mishra expressed his fears "The scene is disappointing, since genuine talent is not getting an opportunity to sing on stage while mediocre, talent, by virtue of their contacts and lobbying get to perform on stage. This is resulting in tremendous frustration amongst good upcoming artists who prefer to get into their shell and are lost to society."
