APMC directors seek impartial probe into misuse of funds by Chairman
LOCAL Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) is caught in crisis as Co-operation Department of Maharashtra has started probe into travel allowance of around Rs 10 lakh taken by Shrikam Gawande, Chairman of APMC allegedly going out of way. Six directors of APMC who are from opposite group of Gawande on Wednesday through a press conference demanded Co-operation Department to conduct unbiased and fair inquiry of the Chairman and his alleged irregularities in market committee.
Led by senior BJP leader Arun Adsad. directors of APMC Praiap Adsad. Mohan Ingle and others listed out various alleged irregularities and misuse of funds by Chairman Gawande and demanded for impartial inquiry of the case.
Addressing the press conference directors alleged that there are inconsistencies in the provisions made in the main and supplementary budgets for the year 2011-12 and 2013-14 and annual reports of the committee. Expenditure in this period is more than sanctioned amount while permission of marketing board has not been taken for many expenditures. APMC has done many expenditures illegally which include construction in market committee premises, gifts and programmes
