Aamir withdraws offer to members of housing society
LESS than a month after an octogenarian woman and her daughter alleged that the managing committee of their housing society is misleading homeowners and pressuring them to sell 61) per cent of the premises to Aamir Khan who apparently wanted the land to Wanted build a bungalow land for for himself the building actor has withdrawn his offer to buy the prime property.
In a.March31 letter to the managing commit lee of Virgo Cooperative Housing Society in bandra's Pali Hill, Khan wrote, "In the light of objeclionsraised by some members and taking cognizance of the fact that untrue allegations about me are floated by certain members of the society, I would like to withdraw my offer. I hope it puts an end to allegations about me pressuring members to sell out and displacing them so that I could build my mansion. I wish the society and its members a good and happy life."
Dr Pamela de Sa, 87, and her daughter Dr Geneve de Sa, 50, had com-I to buy plained to the deputy registrar of 3 home co-operative societies in March that the managing commit tee was pushing Khan's proposal, which they said was a "falsely conceived redevelopment scheme".
The Indian Express had reported this on March 21.
When contacted, Kondon Sabloak, member secretary of the society, said,
