 The. 6th Maha lok Adalat settled the highest number of pending matters on Saturday at district court premises Civil lines Disposing of 28.839 cases, the Maha lok Adalat achieved an impressive 89 per cent success rate. It reduced the burden Lit pendency at District Coun by 7 per cent
A complainant Premkumari srivas had lodged a complaint against accused chandrakant bodhate with sonegaon police station in the year 1985. alleging that the accused had caused a loss of Rs 100 lo her by breaking door of her house.
The case was pending before JMFC Court No.9 Bold of them turned up before the panel during Maha Lok Adalat on Saturday. and the years old mailer was settled amicably by both panics In dispute.
Another complainant Babarao Chaple of Babulban had lodged a complaint in April 1976 against accused Baron alleging that the latter had commuted criminal breach of trust regarding two bags each containing wheat and rice.
An offence under Section 406 of the IPC was registered by I .lakadganj Police Station April 22, 1976. After 38 years, the mailer was settled amicably in Maha lok Adalat held on Saturday.
Of 13.783 pending litigations. Maha lok adalat settled I2.539cases. Of 17.434 pre-litigation matters. 16.300 were disposed of.
In this Maha Lok Adalat. total fine amount collected wan Rs 34.61.700 while total settlement amount in pre-litigation cases was a whopping Rs 10.32.25.968.
At the outset. Justice Z. A Haq. Judge. Bombay High Court, inau guratcd Maha lok Adalat by lighting  the traditional lamp.
Addressing the gathering. Justice Haq said that Maha lok Adalat or National Lok Adalat were the best mechanism to reduce pendency in courts, "h is helpful for both--courts and litigants. It saves lime and money," he added.
Justice Haq also shared his experience Of participating in the first lok Adalat held in the year 1995-96 at Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court premises.principal  District Judge Subhash Mohod made introductory remarks. He informed that 94 panels were constituted to hear 25,253 cam, Along with this. Maha lok Adalat special drive also was undertaken wherein 8.974 mailers were taken up for settlement.
Each panel was headed by judicial officers with advocates and social workers as members.
The programme was conducted by JMFC B P Vyas while Kishore Jaiswal. Secretary. DLSA proposed a vote of thanks.
Adv Sudeep Jaiswal. President of District Bar Association; Adv Anil Gowardipe. Vice-Chairman of Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa; Adv    Vijay     Kolhe.    District Government Pleader shared the dais during inaugural function.
Judicial officers, advocates, litigants, social workers, paralegal volunteers. DLSA members, law faculties, law student sand trained mediators            also            were
present
Civil cases, land acquisition matters compoundable criminal cases matrimonial disputes, motor accidents claim petitions, cheque dishonour cases, other civil and criminal pre-litigative disputes were placed for amicable settlement in the Maha Lok Adalat.
A special panel of GIPSA comprim) retired District Judge S S Patil. Orthopedic .Surgeon, retired official of insurance company were there to settle the MACP cases.
