Agri Deptt vows to free land on SGAU road from encroachers, beautify it

 

TFNDANCY to kill time. not taking decisions and neglecting things, make problems worse many times and that has exactly occured at the land owende by District Collectorate where Agriculture Department of Amravati has its different offices people from the outside Stale have encroached around 2-3 acres of Und in the premises of Agriculture department on sant gadgebaba
Amravati university (SGAU) road in city. No serious steps have been yet taken to stop these encroach menu and lake out encroachers from the premises.
Total 148 hectares land owned by Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krtshi Vidyapeeth is located on SGAU road. Out of this Agriculture Department has possesion of seven hectares of land and it in under the control of District Collector of Amravati  The area is named as Krivhi Sankul' and has office of Joint Director of Agriculture. Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer. Tehsil Agriculture Officer, depart-men training centre and different labs for insecticides, pesticides and other things.

This place is on SGAU road which has posh colonies around and has higher market races of the land. Unfortunately, the 2-3 acres of land on the embankment of nullah in this premises had been encroached and people of special community, from outside Maharashtra, specifically from Bihar, arc residing their. Encrochers have constructed their houses on the land and living without any interruption from government authorities. They take their cattles which include goats, buffaloes and cows for grazing on agriculture land. For many years, people to this settlement used shades and buildings in the premises for all illegally things. On administrative level, it is well clear that these people are living illegally and their houses are encroachment. Ironically, instead of wiping out this encroachment, administration has provided facilities like water supply connections and electricity connections at the houses Political intervention and administrative negligence is resulting into the regluarisation of these encroachments. Illegal encroachments have not only captured the government land which is at prime location in the city but also are proving nui-sanee 10 the Agriculture Department offices here also.
Mean while.Agriculture
Department is thinking on the beautification of this place. last year, office of Joint Director of Agriculture was shifted in the new building here primarily to save this land from encroachment. Since then we have got some .success in slopping the illegal movement of people in this premises. Earlier, encroachers regulary used this land for ceremonial purposes and various things. We have written to District Collector to take steps in this regard to evacuate encroachers and Collector paid a visit to place. We arc sure that with the help of higher authorities and District Collector, we would evacuate the encroachement and save this land of government." hoped Ashok Lokhande.
