MSRTC registers criminal cases against 1,975 staffers in 2012-13
MAHARASHTRA Stale Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has registered criminal offence against its 197S employees in the year 2012-2013 in various cases in various police stations across Maharashtra MSRTC is also initiating disciplinary actionagainsi these employees.
This was revealed under Right to Information Act. to activist Abhay Kolarkar recently. This may he shocking for MSRTC. but a large number of its employees were found ID be involved in criminal offences like cheating. and misappropriation The MSRTC is in big loss and employees indulged in such activities which will increase losses further. Nagpur Division has only 572 buses and all are in satisfactory condition. MSRTC officials claimed. The division has incurred a loss of Rs 3.46.45.000 in financial year 2012-2013 and maximum expenditure was on purchase of diesel.MSRTC buses carried 7.12.16.000passengers in FY-2012-2103 and generated amount of Rs 15,25.66.400.
The Corporation has catched 1948 passengers. without tickets in 2012-20l3and recovered Rs 1.79.104 fine from them.
The Information Officer Mated that in mo years 171 buses met with accidents and three employees and 6 passengers died and 132 were injured. In last three years. MSRTC could not earn any profit.
