Over 14,000 students appear in JEE (Mains)
THE first Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) (Mains) 2014 offline examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education in Maharashtra went off smoothly on Sunday.
As against 15.037 for Paper-I and 2,598 for Paper II. 14.580 students appeared in Paper-1 and 2.436 students appeared in Paper-II at 35 centres in city.
In Nagpur division. 1.734 students remained absent as total 31.585 students appeared in the exam. Total 33.319 students were expected to appear in the exam in the division.

Dr Dilip Vaidya, Director Academics. ICAD-SL said, "The overall impression one gets is that the paper was very well-balanced with respect to the topics and difficulty level. As expected, almost 30% questions are of low level, which can be answered by average student who has been trained properly. However, there are about 10% difficult/lengthy questions, which ought to have been skipped h\ average students. Compared to JEE Mains 2013. Physics was difficult. Mathematics was both, lengthy and difficult; and Chemistry was of the same level."
