Pawar launches scathing attack on Central Govt

THE spectacular results in Lok Sabha election gave an impressive mandate to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but now that time has come to deliver Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reneging on its promises. The people who got swayed by super marketing by BJP leaders are now being dished one excuse after another for their utter failure to bring 'aehchhc din*. Staling this. Nationalist Congress Party leader and Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, launched a scathing attack on Saffron combine that is taking aim at power in State.
Addressing Nirdhar Melawa of NCP at Deshpande Hall on Sunday. Pawar said people should introspect as to what they have gained by voting in NDA Government and why inflation continues to pinch their pockets? On the other hand, he listed countless number of initiatives by Democratic Front Government and NCP in particular that is slowly but surely reduced the development backlog of Vidarbha. Trying to brush aside the popular perception of NCP being pro-Western Maharashtra, Pawar gave various instances where the party Ministers went out of way to provide funds for development projects. Be il cooperative sector, concession to TAL unit at MIHAN, concession for BHEL plant in Bhandara. development of powerloom sector. Gosikhurd. etc. the NCP has always been at forefront in giving extra to Vidarbha and yet somehow these tilings the party has not been able to encash.
I le asked the party activists to reach out to people, using the social media to fullest (just like BJP did it) and try to cam the electorate faith so that NCP makes impact in forthcoming elections.
Newly elected state unit chief Sunil Tatkarc, Maharashtra Minister Anil Deshmukh. PrakashGajbhiye. MLC. cx-MLAs Ramesh Bang. Sunil Shinde. Raju Timande. and others were present on the dais.
Speaking further Dy. CM regretted that while most of regional leaders have made it big in their respective Slates in Maharashtra. Sharad Pawar despite being a broad national outlook and pragmatic leadership has failed to get the decisive mandate and he particularly faulted Vidarbha electorate for this failure. Earlier, SunilTatkare exhorted party workers not to be disillusioned by the recent poor showing in Lok Sabha as such ups and down are part of life. The party should highlight the gross failure of NDA Government to curb inflation. Further he showered praise on Sharad Pawar for various dynamic proposals that was taken in 10 year rule of UPA Government, be it food grains self reliance. 50 per cent reservation for women or loan waiver for fanners etc. Claiming lhai when Pawar was Union Agriculture Minister he was widely known and asked people to tell name Of current Agriculture Minister in NDA Government. This is the difference that Pawar made to any post he held and people must realise this potential of a leader who alone has capacity to steer Maharashtra to prosperity.
Commenting on ongoing seat sharing talks with alliance partner Congress Party. Tatkare talked tough saying they too want to fight election on basis of self respect and if that is not forthcoming NCP is strong enough to fight on its own. About MPCC President Manikrao Thakre comment that Baramati seat of NCP was won because of Congress, he said then the two Congress Lok Sabha seats was won due to NCP. Party leaders Anil Deshmukh. Ramesh Bang. Sunil Shinde. Shabbir Vidrohi. Ajay Patil. Bandopam Umarkar. Dipti Kalmegh also spoke at the well attended meeting. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar promised to review the conditions that has put spanner in revival of Nagpur. Wardha and Buldhana District Central Co-operative Banks. Conceding the demands put forth by local leaders, Pawar said he has asked officials at State Finance Department to ensure that farmers interest are protected. The fate of these three co-operative banks of Vidarbha hangs in balance after RBI suspended their banking licence owing to inadequate liquidity. Now that Democratic Front Government has ayed a package over Rs. 300 crores the next step is High Court's decision which is due on July 30 later this week.
