Major VAT procedural reforms to be implemented soon: Mulak


MAJOR VAT reforms pertaining to procedures and systems would be carried out in the coming days which would resolve the various long-standing issues of trade and industry, remarked Rajendra Mulak, the Minister of Slate for Finance, while addressing the audience at an interactive meet organised by the Nagpur Branch ot'ICAI in ICAI Bhavan, Dhamoli. He responded to all the queries raised by the chartered accountants (CAs) related to VAT.
He further said that there were certain issues with LBT implementation which would be resolved very soon and that the LBT model of Maharashtra was appreciated by all in lite Empowered Group of Finance Minister at the Central level.
Mulak addressed various issues of the power sector. He informed that MIHAN would be allowed DO purchase power from open market and it could supply power at Rs 4 per unit to MIHAN units, which would give a major boost to MIHAN and it would become fully operational in the very near future.
