Physical Efficiency Test
ABOUT 4,517 aspirants including 4,353 men and 164 women passed in the Physical
Efficiency Test (PET) conducted by South East Central Railway (SECR) at the
SECRSA Stadium. Motibaug in Nagpur Divisional Mead Quarters from March 24-29.
this year. The PET was conducted for the candidates who cleared the Railway
written exam conducted by Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) Bilaspur' In all 6.198
candidates including 187 females had cleared the written exam and was tested to
till up the vacancy of 2208 posts.
According to information SECR conducted PET of candidates who cleared the
Railway written exam conducted by Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) Bilaspur. The
PET was held ai the SECRSA Stadium. Motibaug in Nagpur Divisional Headquarters.
In all 6198 candidates including 187 females who cleared the written exam were
called to attend the PET. Of the total 5475 candidates attended the test
including 5310 men and 165 women. As per the selection norms the male candidates
appearing in the PET had to run 1000 meter in 04.15 minutes while female
candidates had to run 400 meter in 03.10 minutes. SECR has made arrangements of
video recordings and time keeping machines to make the entire selection process
transparent. On an average about 1,100 male candidates were called daily for the
PET from March 24-28 while the remaining male candidates were called on the last
day along with 187 female candidates. The PET was conducted in two shifts daily.
The result of the PET was announced immediately after the contest hut the final results of selected candidates would be announced after theuir medical test and other legal formalities. SECR had also adopted latest technologies like video-recording and time recording machines besides installing several CCTV cameras to maintain transparency in die recruitment process. For the first time SECR used the Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology during the recruitment drive. It is a small electronic device that consists of a small chip and an antenna. The chip typically is capable of carrying 2000 bytes of data providing a unique identifier for the tests. The magnetic strip can also be scanned to retrieve the identifying information. SECR has constituted a committee of three officers to monitor the Physical Efficiency Test.
